Master of Science in Library Management & Information Science (MSLMIS)
Access to right information in right time is the prerequisite for the development of information based society. In this age of information explosion, the information scientists have developed some tools and techniques to overcome the problems of accessing right information. This Master’s program is designed how to effectively use the tools and techniques of information management as well as produce skilled human resources who will organize information resources and knowledge and help people to create knowledge based society.
Structure of the Program
Master of Science in Library Management and Information Science (MSLMIS) is a 56 credits, 20 months (5 semesters) program. These credits include 8 prerequisite courses (23 credits), 6 required courses (18 credits), and a Thesis/Research Report (9 credits) under faculty supervision and Internship (6 credits) in any reputed organization.
One year Post-graduate Diploma in Information Science and Library Management or equivalent degree holder’s students require minimum 36 credits (20 credits waiver) and their duration of courses will be 12 months (3 semesters). Students who have 3 (three) years working experience in a library will get MSLMIS-620: Internship course waiver and their duration of courses will be 16 months (4 semesters).

A) Admission Requirements
The admission requirement for the Master of Science in Library Management and Information Science (MSLMIS) program is a Bachelor's degree or a Bachelor's degree with honors in any subject from any recognized institute or university. The applicant's undergraduate grade point average (GPA) score and work experience will be considered in the admission process. A personal interview will be encouraged and may be required.
B) Admission Requirements
A total of 56-credit hours of graduate course work are required for the MSLMIS degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4 points scale.
C) Admission Requirements
This program will follow the Grading policies of the University Grants Commission of Bangladesh.
